About me

My name is Sarah Sell, and I am an AuDHD (Autistic/ADHD) woman with over four years of professional experience working with neurodivergent children. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Nova Southeastern University and a Master of Arts in Exceptional Student Education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of West Florida.

My work with neurodivergent children and their families has helped me understand my own neurodivergence, which I consider one of the greatest privileges of my life. However, I have observed that the professional community—comprising medical professionals, therapists, and educators—is still developing a basic understanding of neurodivergence.

The professionals I have met and collaborated with show immense passion and a sincere desire to help the individuals they serve. Many of the professionals embark on individual journeys to understand neurodivergence.

I believe the systemic deficiency in understanding neurodivergence arises from a lack of inclusion of neurodivergent voices in professional and educational settings.

To address this, I started Point of Divergence with two primary goals in mind:

  1. To contribute to a culture of awareness and acceptance of neurodiversity.
  2. To serve as a resource for neurodivergent individuals and their families.

It is important to note that neurodivergence encompasses a variety of neurotypes, including bipolar disorder, PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and more.
